Oneplus always had a reputation for building value for money flagship smartphones. They started their journey from the well known Oneplus 1 which was their hit smartphone then they continued with 2, 3, 3T, 5, 5T and now the 6. One plus is criticized for every year price rise but for me, they are adding valuable features which are worth the incremented price.

1st March 2018 “Oneplus Prototype appears Online”
A first real leak of Oneplus 6 prototype appeared online which shows a different design language which Oneplus device follows, it had a glass back and in front a notch with 19:9 screen. In the device screenshot hardware, details are clearly seen which tells us that Oneplus 6 will come with 6 GB RAM and 64GB ROM.
8th March 2018 “Antutu Benchmark score leaked”
After the leaked prototype image a OnePlus device codenamed A6000 appeared on Antutu with a whopping high score of 276510.
Since A5000 and A5010 are respective model numbers of OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T, the A6000 that has appeared on AnTuTu could be the OnePlus 6.
13th March 2018: OnePlus 6 to Support Super-Fast LTE Gigabit Connectivity
Rumors suggest that OnePlus 6 will be equipped with a Cat. 16 LTE modem which has a top speed of 1000 Mbps. This is because OnePlus has equipped with Snapdragon 845 SoC which supports a Cat. 16 LTE modem: the Snapdragon X20 LTE. According to Qualcomm, this modem can reach a max download speed of 1.2 Gbps and a speed of 150 Mbps in upload.
16th March 2018: OnePlus 6 Codename Leaked
After digging deep into the source code of Oxygen Os 8.1 oreo flavored Oxygen OS Beta 4 update, XDA developers team was able to find some details about the notch. The XDA team also found out that the OnePlus 6 could be codenamed as Enchilada.
20th March 2018: Advance fingerprint and 3D face scanning feature
OnePlus is rumored to copy the design of Oppo R15 as always, it seems that the OnePlus 6 may arrive with the advanced fingerprint scanning technology and it may feature 3D face scanning.
21st March 2018: Oneplus 6 Price leaked
A listing appeared on a Chinese website in which OP6 is listed with an expensive price tag of $749. In the leaked listing image the specifications are clearly shown telling us that OnePlus 6 houses a display of 6.2 inches. It is equipped with 12-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual camera setup and it carries support for Dash Charge fast charging technology.
26th March 2018: OnePlus 5T Goes Out Of Stock In North America
Kyle Kiang “OnePlus global marketing chief and general manager of North America,” said that every single unit of the OnePlus 5T has been sold out in North America.
28th March 2018: Image Shows Wooden Back Panel And Headphone Jack
The leaked image shows the back panel with a wooden texture. Also, it is clearly seen that the phone has retained the 3.5mm headphone jack, there’s also a USB Type-C port and a speaker grille and the dual-camera setup which are vertically aligned with a fingerprint sensor.
31st March 2018: OnePlus CEO Confirms Presence of Notch
Pete Lau shared a post on the OnePlus forum explaining why the OP6 will have a notch.

3rd April: Marvel’s Avengers Edition OnePlus 6
A leaked video appeared online advertising the new Avengers: Infinity War, the video also contains OnePlus’ logo which seems to flicker alongside that of Marvel Studios.
4th April: Oneplus Notch can be disabled
Lau said on the OnePlus forums that the company had considered adding a black-out function to hide the notch.
8th April: Red Alert Slider
Image leak comes from weibo: device comes in three colors blue, black, and white, it has a glass back with a dual camera and fingerprint setup which are stacked vertically.
12th April: OnePlus 6 Under OnePlus 5T
Oneplus officially released a teaser which shows the OnePlus 6 under OnePlus 5T. It is placed in such a way that the left edge of the phone is only visible.
15th April: Coral Blue Color
A promotional poster of the Coral Blue colored OP6 leaked online, confirming the existence of new color variant.
Along with the Coral Blue color, the poster shares with us smartphone key specification which are: 6GB/8GB RAM, up to 256GB of internal storage, 20+16 Mp rear camera and Dash Charge 2.
16th April: Amazon India exclusive
OnePlus 6 smartphones will be exclusively available in India through online retailer Amazon.
16th April: OnePlus 6 Camera Samples Released by OnePlus CEO
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau posted some camera samples to his Weibo account. Images posted were shot at Stanford, California using the OnePlus 6. Here are all the photos that have been shared by Lau.
17th April: OnePlus 6 Will be Water resistant
Oneplus released a teaser on Twitter confirming that OnePlus 6 will be water resistant.

21st April: OnePlus 6 to have a glass back
Oneplus again teased with a new tweet that shows the bottom part of the OnePlus 6 and from the appearance, it seems to be covered in glass. There is also the text “Designed by OnePlus” inscribed on it.

23rd April: Amazon India begins registration
The OnePlus device is always Amazon exclusive and OP 6 will also be exclusively available through Amazon India. Amazon India featured a registration page. The registrations page does not contain any information on the specs and pricing of the OnePlus 6. However, it only reveals that the OP6 is “coming soon.”
25th April: OnePlus 6 Will Launch On May 16 & 17
OnePlus confirmed the release date of OP 6, which are May 16 in London and on May 17 in Mumbai.
26th April: OnePlus 6 leaked, Marvel Edition
- OnePlus 6 newest renders appeared in white color that shows the front and rear of the phone.
- Oneplus tweets a teaser of the phone confirming Marvel Avengers Limited Edition, and also released its design.
- OnePlus India official website posted a poster that was later pulled down and replaced with something else.
30th April: Oneplus Pricing
TrueTech.net posted an article sharing the device price and claiming they have received information from a reliable and verified source. According to them pricing of the 64 GB will be Rs. 36,999 (~$557) and 128 GB will be Rs. 39,999 (~$602).
