Resident Evil 7: Blood, Sweat, and Fears 4D VR Candle

Paired with the sight and movement of Resident Evil 7‘s PlayStation VR-powered virtual reality component, Merchoid and Capcom think the candle might be the “definitive way to experience the game.

Enhancing a virtual reality experience by trying to engage other senses is a great idea, but at almost $20, this is an expensive way to do it, even if the candle lasts as much as 20 hours according to retailer Merchoid. There’s a reason Smell-o-Vision never made it big.

If you want to smell the official smell of Resident Evil 7, though, it’ll be available on Merchoid’s Resident Evil landing page starting on January 20. As for the game itself, Resident Evil 7 hits PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation VR, and Xbox One on January 24.
